Put a Bit of Sparkle in your Life...

Bird Is the Word

Our new word for the next two weeks will be SPARKLE!

This word made me think a little more than all the other words i have scrapped. It shouldn't have cause my youngest daughter is always - and i mean ALWAYS - dressed in PINK and material which sparkles. But i had a photo which was taken from a distance- more background then anything- so i decided to cut "her" out from everything else. Which then made me decide on creating a layout which had a scene. Not me, totally different, but i think i actually was amazed by the end result. Tell me what you think??

My daughter had left over glitter and told me i could use it one day on my scrapbook layouts...well i did...

Did you spot the Purple Pumpkin embellishments and the Scrapmatts chipboard in my layout???

You should go check out all their great products. Purple Pumpkin is having their monthly sale on tomorrow night here. Lots of new products for sale...i know i will be there with bells on!!

Mary Thomas has also left a sketch on Bird Is the Word which you may like to use for inspiration for your layout.

If you like my layout, then you should check out all the DT examples here...such a wonderful and amazing bunch of ladies...and i enjoy working alongside them

And before i go i thought i would show you a few photo's recently taken of the girls...

And kayleys swim photos of her competing at Brophy in canberra which means you had to finish in the top 2 for your area in which you swim at regional level.

andrew and i were very proud parents last Sunday.Kayley swam very well and it was a great fun day.

Long Time in Between Posts...

Well in the last 2 weeks our car has driven to Sydney twice, Albury twice, Wagga, Leeton and Coolamon. We have one more left to do which is to Canberra on Sunday. Kayley finished in the top 2 for our region for swimming in both butterfly and breaststroke events. So Brophy here we come. She is looking forward to also swimming in the relay events too - this time not swimming against the girls she has been swimming at carnivals but with them instead.

So i can show a layout i completed for Stuck. Sara's sketch was great to work with and so fun.

Here is my layout based on the sketch.

Did you spot the Purple Pumpkin embellishments??? The little bumble bee buttons are so cute and i love the leather hearts which are bright but you can also doodle on them too.

I have also been busy creating for Scrapmatts. Our theme this month was boys/men in our life. Well having 3 girls, this was a bit daunting at first but i am lucky enough to have my best friend to take photo's of her son.

Rush, Rush, Rush.....

Life has been quiet hectic in the Symons house...

Swimming season is drawing to an end but basketball, netball and gym start up..
Last weekend Andrew and I were split. He having to go to Sydney with Kayley and myself going to Wagga and Coolamon.

Kayley got selected for the Speedo Sprints which were held at the Olympic Pool in Sydney. It was a great experience and she did do a PB in one race.

Now this is a photo of Bridget who was very proud at her school carnival coming first:

And my exciting weekend was spent with Emma and Bridget. We attended the Jellybean Picnic which is for kids who have Type1 Diabetes. What a day...they had craft and art, animal handling shows, games, sample bags and the highlight of the day was the photo booth. I don't even know how many times my girls were in there...i lost count!

Emma got to start off a collage and of course it had to be green!

Bridget loved the animal show:

And on sunday i travelled to Coolamon with Emma for a swim carnival. We had a great day and the sun was out from behind those clouds. Em was so proud because she received 2 medals on the day.

And the weekend before, the Tumut Show was held but alot of events were cancelled due to floods around Tumut. But the Miss Show Girl was still held and Kayley and Bridget both received ribbons on the day.

So i have managed to scrap only my DT committments at the moment. And the new word has went up over at

Bird Is The Word

Finally the Sun comes Out

Since completing this layout for todays reveal at STUCK, we have had floods around Tumut. Bit different to the happy photos displayed on my layout when we had clear blue skies. But the sun is out now, washing is finally on the clothes line getting dry and i can finally scrap a little.

and a few close ups of those bright and bubbly buttons which can be purchased at Purple Pumpkin:

Don't you agree - the buttons look fantasic and are great for all styles of layouts.

This layout was created for my first reveal at STUCK. If you get time this month, why not come and visit to check out the magnificant sketch by Sara and the fantastic talent on the CT.

I have been away last week with Kayley in Sydney for her annual checkup from her brain tumor.Everything turned out great. We got the best report.
On returning back to Tumut, we had a BIG downpour of rain which flooded the Tumut Valley. Here are some photos i took.

There were also some animals which were trying to stay dry:

A Big Time Catch Up....

Life is certainly hectic at the moment. Swimming season is drawing to a close and with todays weather in Tumut, you would think it would be now!

We have been in Sydney for doctors appointments with Kayley and we travelled back home last night to find alot of places around Tumut flooded. There were 11 people rescued and evacuated from their homes last night.

We were suppose to go to Leeton for the Zone High School Swim Carnival but it has been cancelled as towns cannot get through to compete.

The Tumut Show is suppose to be on this weekend. Everything has been cancelled bar the pavilion. It is a shame cause the girls were so excited and looking forward to going.

So in the coming week we will have both girls going to Leeton and Albury for swimming carnivals and Emma has a trial basketball in Albury too.

You might ask how i have scrapped in all this running around. Well it has been hard but i'm going OK....just what i have to get done and nothing for me though...:(

So i better show and tell some....

Bird Is the Word
